POLITICS: Ambode Receives Transition Committee’s Report

The Lagos state governor-elect, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has received the
report of the transition committee. Ambode, who received the report on
May 22, Friday, used the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to
maintain the Centre of Excellence status the state is known for. The
10-member committee, headed by the deputy governor-elect, Dr. Idiat
Oluranti Adebule was set up to make the transition between the
out-going administration of Governor Babatunde Fashola and the
in-coming one of Mr. Ambode a seamless one.
In his brief remarks, Ambode thanked members of the committee for a
job well done and for submitting on schedule.
He said the report will assist the in-coming government in ensuring
that the tradition of excellence that the state is known for
continued.

While submitting the report, the deputy governor-elect expressed
appreciation on behalf of the members and thanked Ambode for giving
them the opportunity to serve.

She said they are ready anytime they are called upon to assist the new
government in any capacity.

Ambode emerged winner of the April 11 governorship election in Lagos,
defeating Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor-elect will be taking over from incumbent, Fashola after
the May 29, which is Nigeria's handover date.
