PDP South Africa Tasks Buhari on Economic Recovery

South African chapter of the opposition party, the People Democratic Party, PDP, has again urged the Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government to make haste to restore hope to the hapless Nigerians who had patiently awaited for an enduring roadmap to revamp the ailing economy.
Speaking at a parley in Johannesburg, South Africa, the PDP chapter chairman, Hon. Akpokabayen Ekos made it clear that, given the time so far wasted without seeing any economic road map on the table, it should already be pressing on the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari that time is slowly running out on them.
He said that the beauty of governance is judged by its visible reflections on the people being governed.
"I am admonishing them not to take the patient nature of the good people of Nigeria for granted. This suffering is persistently piercing the bones by the day, and there seem to be no hope of recovery in sight.
"Look, this is not funny any longer, the world out there is watching and are in full expectation, to actually see the "change" that was promised Nigerians in 2015. Failure to deliver on that promise will be more disastrous for our already battered image", he said, adding that "it still baffles everybody why this government should prefer to fail rather than consult widely with a view to getting the best brains that will help them save this country from imminent depression.
"God blessed Nigeria with men and women of wisdom in every facet of life who are changing the world globally. These are not politicians neither do they belong to any political party, yet here we are with a band of less competent politicians whose poor strategies and policies have only succeeded in institutionalizing poverty in the land, rather than make transformation that will create wealth," he emphasized.
According to him, it has already become urgently needful for President Buhari to rejig his cabinet and consider giving more slots for competent women in the society, noting that "all over the world today, women have proven to be stronger managers and creators of wealth.
"The current composition of only 16% women in the core governmental affairs is simply a deliberate error in a 21st century world where the greatest world powers are today being led by women and we are now about to witness yet another political revolution by women in the almighty United States of America," Hon Ekos added.
I think at our level, we need to follow suit for it would soon become a world of total gender equality where acts will be judged by intelligence rather than gender and the early we key into the trend the better, Hon.
On his own part, the PDP chapter Director of Communications, Hon. Emeka Johnson used the opportunity to urge PDP members in diaspora to contribute to political discussions back home, stressing that at all times there is a segment of party faithfuls whose unwavering faith and believe in the tenets, vision and mission of our great party PDP still resonate.

He stressed that at all times there was and is a segment of party Faithfull's whose unwavering faith and believe in the tenets, vision and mission of our great party PDP still reposed and resonates. A group that weathered the storms in their respective dome to hoist and keep the party flag flying high, that group is the Diasporans.
