Jollof Rice made me go to UNN – Pastor Adeboye

ENUGU – THE general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that jollof rice and chicken being enjoyed by the students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, way back in 1962, made him to choose the UNN as a university where he would do his first degree. Adeboye who was awarded with an honorarily doctorate degree of Doctor of Divinity, DD by the University on Tuesday, said that he developed interest in the University when he went with his fellow students on an excursion to UNN in 1962 and saw students eating jollof rice with half a chicken. Adeboye The cleric said that when he saw the way the students were enjoying then, he decided that he God permitted, he would come to UNN to study and lucky enough, the following year, 1963, he gained admission into the prestigious University. The Federal Ministry of Education invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2017/2018 Nomination Interview for Bilateral Education Agreement, BEA Scholarship Award for: i) Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Serbia, Hungary, Egypt, Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Ukraine, Japan, Macedonia; and ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, e.t.c. Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Awards are scholarship awards made to eligible Nigerian youths after due process by development partners who have entered into Bilateral Educational agreement with Nigeria. Adeosun: FG, states N13.1b richer in December

The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun said the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared N400 billion which is N13.1 billion more than what the three tiers of government shared as revenue in December. She said the N400 billion was distributed under four distributable sub-heads. They are statutory allocation where the sum of N224.88 billion was allocated; Value Added Tax N79.27 billion, exchange gain N52.84 billion and excess Petroleum Profit Tax N42.99 billion. From the statutory allocations, the minister said after deducting cost of collections to the revenue generating agencies, the Federal Government got N105.76 billion, states N53.64 billion and local government councils N41.35 billion. In addition, she said the sum of N15.5 billion was given to the oil producing states based on the 13 per cent derivation principle. For VAT allocation, Adeosun said the Federal Government received N11.4 billion, states N38 billion while Local Government Councils got N2...

Confusion has greeted Donald Trump's inauguration as U.S. President as rival support groups clashed on the streets of Washington DC in support and against the inauguration of Trump. Supporters arriving for the "Deploraball" inauguration celebration in Washington were greeted by screaming profanities and threats as they entered the National Press Club Building.
